Funeral services will be Saturday July23rd, at 11am at the County Line Baptist Church near Douglass. Visitation will be Friday night at the funeral home in Alto from 6-8pm. Samuel Price, 68, departed to his heavenly home on July 16, 2016 after a valiant battle with health issues. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace. Samuel was born to the late Fortune and Venora Price on August 25, 1947. He was immersed in the Christian community that would be his lifelong support at an early age. He was a faithful member and Deacon of County Line Baptist Church. He graduated from C.L. Simon High School in Cushing Texas. Samuel spent most of his life in Lufkin, Texas working as an insurance agent, Texas Foundry and for Lufkin Industries for twenty years and pursuing his hobbies of hunting, fishing and barbecuing. Samuel leaves behind his loving wife of 21 years, Barbara Price of Alto TX, Siblings: John (Gudrun) Price of Lawton, OK; Catheryn Rose of Desoto, TX; Aaron (Deborah) Price of Clarksville, TN; Cathy (Billie) Watkins of San Antonio, TX; Velma Jones of Desoto, TX; Kenneth (Yumi) Price of Desoto, TX; Cheryl Price of Lancaster, TX; Uncle: James (Gladys) Bagley of Fort Polk, LA; Aunt: Imogene Bagley of Lufkin, TX; Step-Children: Steven (Virginia) Brown of El Paso, TX; Whitney Brown of Navasota, TX; Tony Evans of Killeen, TX; Jimmy Evans of Nacogdoches, TX; and Latasha (Otis) Stanton of Desoto, TX. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Samuel was preceded in death by his brothers Welton and David Price.
