Patsy Ruth Stanley
Alto - Patsy Ruth Stanley, formerly of Alto, Texas died at her residence in Clinton, MS on October 15th, 2016. Patsy was born June 20th, 1929 in Lufkin, Texas to George and Beulah Mae Kelly of Alto, Texas. Patsy attended elementary and high school in Alto, Texas and later attended and graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University and began her career in education in Hobbs, New Mexico. On June 6th, 1952, Patsy married the love of her life, Robert E. Stanley, Jr., also of Alto, Texas and they began their life together in Hampton, Arkansas, with her continuing her career as an elementary school teacher while Ed served as District Forrester for International Paper Company. In 1956 their first son, Wrenn Wood, was born and in 1958 their second son Keith Kelly, was born completing their family. They continued in Arkansas until 1972 moving then to Jefferson, Texas, when Ed was promoted to Timberland Supervisor with International Paper and Patsy continued teaching. There, they were very active in the community and their church. Ed passed away in 1982 and Patsy retired from teaching and moved to Clinton, Mississippi in 2002 to be near family. There she continued to be very involved with her family, which was ever growing to include grandchildren as well as great grandchildren and her church. Patsy is preceded in death by her mother and father as well as her husband. She is survived by her two sons; Wrenn Wood and Debra Stanley of Clinton, Mississippi and Keith Kelly and Sandra Stanley of Silver City, New Mexico. Patsy''s legacy includes 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren spread out from coast to coast. A graveside service was held at Old Palestine Cemetery Tuesday, October 18th at 2pm. She will be dearly missed by friends and family.
