Virginia Compton Obituary

Virginia Ruth Schochler Compton passed away peacefully from this life into eternity with Jesus on March 20, 2024 in Tyler, TX. Virginia was born to Virgil and Flo Schochler on January 11, 1935 in Alto, TX. Some of you may have known her as “Ginger”.  Virginia is survived by her daughter: Tammy Carraway. Brother: Danny & wife Glenda Schochler, grandchildren: Derek Carraway and wife Angela and Whitney Lecon and husband Tim, greatgrandchildren: Micheala, Dylon, Victoria, Emma and Patrick, great great grands: Rori, Jesse and Asher and many nephews, nieces, and friends.
Virginia was a faithful charter member of Hilltop Baptist Church. Family and God were the most important things to Virginia.  She was a person of faith, one who strived to make people happy and was always eager to help. As we say goodbye, let us remember that her spirit, her love, and her teachings remain with us. She lives on in our memories, in material things, but one of love, resilience, and the beauty of a life well-lived. A celebration of her life will be held at Hilltop Baptist Church in Alto TX, on April 6 at 1 PM.
